Is the world changing faster than I am? So much so that I’m becoming a prude?

It does seem to me that the sort of language that is used today is becoming more and more racy. You hear words we would never have used in mixed company being used in everyday conversation and on radio and TV programs now… and nobody seems to care!

Well, at least I do! I’ve always believed that the use of swear words, profanities and “smuttiness” just shows a lack of education. Maybe that’s unfair but it is at least a failure to reach into one’s vocabulary and find a better and more appropriate word or phrase.

Now, this headline in an advert doesn’t actually use bad language. And, yes, it does grab attention! But is it language you’d use if you were talking to your mum or your grandma?

I think not! Maybe that’s the test we should apply. Would we use it talking to mum or grandma?

Then again, I may be getting old and crotchety!

P.S. By the way it was, as you no doubt guessed, an advert for chicken balls.
