I’m not sure I’ve ever mentioned it, but every Good Friday for many years I’ve been helping a group known as the Pied Pipers raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Whilst many groups, including the Pied Pipers, work throughout the year at their various fundraising efforts, Good Friday is the culmination. That’s the day when everyone involved brings in the funds they’ve raised and literally thousands of people dig deep into their pockets as volunteer collectors hit the streets and knock on doors to get even more money rolling in.

I’m generally a volunteer standing behind the volunteers, dropping off food and drinks to tin shakers at traffic lights and supporting the school kids who are knocking on doors in the morning.

The result of the efforts by all these people is that millions of dollars are raised.

But maybe the same result won’t be achieved this year because of that damned Corona virus. All those volunteers have got to sit at home!

So the Pied Pipers have done something different…

They have created the “VIRTUAL TIN SHAKE” and the Pied Pipers have their own tin!

If you have a few dollars to spare and would like to donate, please click on the link below between now and Good Friday.

Help the kids!
