Why should you participate as an exhibitor?
E&A is the trade fair where the latest developments and trends in electronics and applications take center stage. It is the ideal place to get in touch with engineers, designers, developers and other interested parties.

Look back at kick-off E&A and LabNL 2023

How do you make a content planning, a plan to attract visitors before, during and after a trade fair or event? How do you create content that appeals your existing and new customers and encourages them to action? And how do you attract visitors via LinkedIn? These practical questions were answered during the kick-off of the Electronics & Applications and LabNL last Thursday at FHI in Leusden. We look back on a successful afternoon!

A practical presentation about the current information regarding exhibitor recruitment and the floorplan. Next tot his, practical workshops were given with a common goal: starting a joint visitor recruitment.

But how to proceed?

  • Start sharing socials on company accounts and colleagues every week.
  • Make messages personal and attractive by telling your customers and relations what benefits they experience. What will they experience at the fair that they should not miss?
  • Make appointments for the trade fair now. Divide time slots in, for example, a tool like Calendly for colleagues at the fair on which interested parties can register.

Good luck!

Seminar: the advantages of European manufacturing

More and more companies are choosing products from European brokerage. Cooperation with EU manufacturers offers several advantages, according to the seminar "The benefits of European manufacturing" at the E&A fair in Utrecht. The seminar is on Wednesday morning, Sept. 27, and admission is free.

Right partners
A good start is half the battle and that is certainly true when selecting European partners. Klaas van Duin (VDL TBP Electronics) opens the seminar with a presentation on the considerations VDL TBP Electronics makes with a view to right first time. By means of appealing practical examples, the audience was given a picture of the do's and dont's during the selection process.

An important argument for doing business with non-European countries is the low personnel costs. Anton van Limpt (Bestronics) and Jan van Lieshout (Smans) explain that it is also possible to save on personnel costs within Europe by organizing business processes in a smarter way: from design to shipment and all aspects in between.

Then Hans Baka spoke on behalf of C.N. Rood on a subject that is still fresh in everyone's mind: component shortages. Although the biggest problems are now over, we all want to prevent it from getting out of hand again in the future. Baka presents an innovative solution during his lecture: ECO (engineering change order) on the FLY. This method combines a flying probe test with armature.

Looking to the future
After the break, we turn our gaze to the future. Industrial electronics are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated and this places higher demands on assembly. During its lecture, Tooltronics explains how to produce reliable electronics and how to qualify and validate changes.
Also when it comes to time-to-market, we see that customers are becoming more demanding.  Kevin Domancich of Essemtec AG explains, on behalf of SMD-TEC, how to optimize time-to-market through technical process improvements. He gives a concrete example of a fast paste/glue jetter in the SMD pick-and-place machine that saves both time and costs.

Tip of the hat
What does the future of manufacturing look like in practice? In their lecture, Yannick Lambregts and Wilfred der Kinderen of Europe SMT lifted a tip of the veil. Production processes will look very different: from the SPI providing feedback to the printer, to the mounter sending messages to the stockroom, to the AOI automatically intervening when a problem occurs.

Dieter Weiss of in4ma concludes the seminar with an up-to-date overview of the EMS market. He shares the latest research, developments and trends so you know what to expect in the coming time and what business opportunities lie ahead for your company.
