Self-lish is about Mariam Abdul-Malik a young immigrant mother breaking all the stereotypes in her life about staying home for her kids because she wants to prove that she is more than just a mother.
Mariam (29), is a Middle Eastern Arab woman with a busy schedule who is struggling to make it through her daily demands. Despite her overwhelming schedule, everyone in her life and family demands more of her time.
Omar (33), her middle eastern traditional husband has big dreams to move the entire family to Chicago for what he thinks will be a better life.
Sammy Abdul-Malik (65), is a traditional Arab father who thinks that money will fix all his daughter’s problems.
Mrs. Abdul-Malik (55), is a traditional Arab mother that depends on her daughter all the time.
Mrs. Ibrahim (70), is a close-minded old lady who constantly complains to Mariam about her choices in life.
There is No Pay.
