Annapolis Shakespeare Company is accepting video submissions for the 2019-2020 Season Auditions.

Annapolis Shakespeare Company is seeking AEA* & non-AEA actors with classical training or classical experience for Hamlet; A Christmas Carol; The 39 Steps; Treasure Island; Shakespeare’s Long Lost Play (Abridged); and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Seeking actors/strong singers/strong dancers for All That Jazz!; A Broadway Holiday; You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. All roles are paid.

Submissions should include headshot/resume, availability for callback dates, and season availability. Must be available for all of tech and performances. Actors should prepare two contrasting monologues (at least one classical in verse). Singers should prepare two pieces showing range, at least one of which should be from a golden age musical (pre-1960s). Dancers should prepare a video sample of their work. Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to submit. All roles are paid. Applicants should send their submissions to asc_casting@annapolisshakespeare.org including their availability and phone number. Only limited housing is available for next season, all applicants must whether they are in the DMV area or if they will require housing.

Callbacks are by appointment only and will be held at our theater at 1804 West St Suite 200, Annapolis MD, 21401. All rehearsals and performances will be held in Annapolis, MD.

Hamlet — (Rehearsals begin: 8/28; Performances: 9/28-10/27)
Considered to be one of the greatest tragedies of all time, Shakespeare’s tale of murder, revenge, and self-doubt is broght to life in ths modern, edgy and visually striking production. If you ask yourself “to go, or not to go”, the answer is YES! Don’t miss this fabulous new production.

All That Jazz! — (Rehearsals begin: 9/4; Performances: 10/5-10/20)
This all singing, all dancing glittering salute to the best of Broadway features our full line-up of Broadway performers accompanied by the Unified Jazz Ensemble on our Main Stage. Enjoy the best of Broadway, in Annapolis!

A Christmas Carol — (Rehearsals begin: 10/29; Performances: 11/30-12/29)
Charles Dickens’ original story was created to inspire a spirit of charity toward those less fortunate. Our Helen Hayes Award – recommended original production of this classic holiday story has become an ASC annual holiday tradition, delighting patrons of all ages. It’s a perfect way to share the holiday spirit with family and friends.

A Broadway Holiday — (Rehearsals begin: 11/12; Performances: 12/12-12/28)
Our original musical is an updates confection of holiday showstoppers with a new song and dance numbers, featuring our popular Broadway performers and a live band. We’ve extended the run by popular demand. Don’t miss the holiday fun!

The 39 Steps — (Rehearsals begin: 1/14; Performances: 2/15-3/8)
In this satirical adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 thriller, a cast of four actors portrays every hero, villain, spy, and love interest of this farcical mystery. Moving by train from London to the moors of Scotland, the character’s many illusions to Hitchcock films provide lots of laughs and surprises on the journey.

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Rehearsals begin: 2/25; Performances: 3/28-4/19)
A delightful gem of a musical, this production is a fresh approach to the all-time 1967 classic, based on the beloved Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz. It brings to life all the humor and heart of the characters that we still love to love, including Sally, Charlie Brown, Linus, Kucy, Schroeder, and Snoopy. This charming American classic is perfect for the entire family.

Treasure Island — (Rehearsals begin: 4/14; Performances: 5/16-6/21)
This swashbuckling adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s most beloved novel is a tale of buccaneers, buried gold, treasure maps, pirates, and the famous “Long John Silver”. Join young Jim Hawkins on his journey of a lifetime.

Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (Abridged) — (Rehearsals begin: ; Performances: 5/26-9/8 (Tuesdays))
Discovered in a treasure-filled parking lot in Leicester, England (next to a non-descript pile of bones) is an ancient manuscript – the literary holy grail. All Shakespeare’s most famous characters and familiar speeches appear in a brand-new story abridged down to a hilarious and bite-sized ninety-minute performance. Presented weekly on Tuesdays in the outdoor courtyard at Reynolds Tavern in Annapolis.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Rehearsals begin: ; Performances: 7/9-7/20)
Shakespeare’s most popular romantic comedy is set in an enchanted forest where fairies control the fate of sparring lovers, and a group of amusing amateur actors put on a play. Join us under the stars for our 5th annual epic outdoor Shakespeare production in Annapolis Shakespeare Company’s signature style.
