“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”
Casting directors with Grant Wilfley Casting in New York are seeking both union and non-union talent who are local to the New York City area for possible work as TV show extras on the Amazon series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.“ The show and its casting directors are seeking folks in the local area that can pull off a 1960’s look and are willing to get their hair cut. This is a non-speaking background role.
According to the “THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL” IMDB page, the new Amazon Studios show is set in 1950s Manhattan and is described as a 60-minute dramedy that centers on Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a sunny, energetic, sharp, Jewish girl who had her life mapped out for herself: go to college, find a husband, have kids, and throw the best Yom Kippur dinners in town. Soon enough, she finds herself exactly where she had hoped to be, living happily with her husband and two children in the Upper West Side. A woman of her time, Midge is a cheerleader wife to a man who dreams of a stand-up comedy career, but her perfect life is turned upside down when her husband suddenly leaves her for another woman. Completely unprepared, Midge is left with no choice but to reevaluate what to do with her life. When she accidentally stumbles onto the stage at a comedy club, she soon discovers her own comedic skills and decides to use this newfound talent to help her rebuild a different life for herself. The series will trace the trajectory of Midge’s journey as she goes on to pursue a career as a stand up comic.
“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is written and directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino and stars Rachel Brosnahan, Alex Borstein and Tony Shalhoub.

GWCI is seeking SAG-AFTRA and NON UNION Men okay with an early 1960s haircut and women. Ages 18-99, all ethnicities) for background work on the Golden Globe & Emmy Winning award show THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, season 4!
Seeking early 1960s types.
Men must be okay getting a 1960s haircut if needed and being clean shaven on the shoot date. NO VISIBLE TATTOOS, for everyone: no tattoos on neck or handles. For men, no tattoos on elbows and down.
Must be comfortable working around atmospheric smoke. No wool allergies.
The series will being filming in NYC starting mid January 2021. Will be asked to attend a wardrobe fitting in Brooklyn before work date. There will be mandatory covid tests prior to fitting and work date(s). Covid tests are provided by production and are paid. PPE must be worn at all times at fitting and on set when not on camera.
