Get pumped, because Trussville City Fest is back, Saturday, September 10 and Saturday, September 17 for a two-weekend event. Presented by Trussville Gas & Water, this year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever before with more food, music and city-filled fun. Follow our seven-stop guide for everything you need to see and do during this special event for the ultimate City Fest experience. (Be sure to scroll down to the special event on September 9!)

Stop 1. Live Music

Where: Trussville Entertainment District Stage, 119 Beech St, Trussville, AL 35173

What’s here: Start your Trussville City Fest experience at the Trussville Entertainment District. Order tasty eats and drinks from local restaurants while you rock to the sounds of Electric Avenue The 80s MTV Experience.  Chosen as America’s Best 80s Band in 2019, Electric Avenue transports fans of all ages back to the New Wave and FM Radio Pop days of the 1980s.

Stop 2: Trussville Public Library

When: Saturday, September 10 & 17 | 9AM-5PM | Music from 11AM & 2PM on Saturday, September 10 only
Where: Trussville Public Library, 201 Parkway Dr, Trussville, AL 35173

What’s here: On September 10, the Trussville Library will feature performances at 11AM and 2PM by local bluegrass favorite, the Random Mountain Ramblers.

On September 17, the Library will be acting as the festival’s hub, your go-to spot for all your City Fest info and merch. Be sure to buy a T-shirt at the UAB Callahan Eye Clinic Souvenir Tent to remember the day!

Stop 3: City Fest Main Street

When: Saturday, September 17 | 9AM-5PM
Where: Corner of Main Street and Parkway Drive, Trussville, AL 35173 across from Trussville City Hall, 131 Main St, Trussville, AL 35173

What’s here: The largest AmFirst Marketplace ever, the City of Trussville Food Truck Area and loads of entertainment on the Festival Stage mean a whole lot of fun for everyone! In the Marketplace area, discover local vendors, crafters and more like:

  • Addi B Accessories: beautiful handmade clay earrings
  • A Knot to Remember: charming crocheted yarn toys and other handmade items
  • Aromas From Home: packaged breads, pound cakes + other food items 
  • F&D Farm/Berries Berries: a variety of homemade jellies and jams made with Clanton, Alabama-grown fruit
  • Itty bitty book city/Tiny Frog Publishing: book-related items, including books, coloring books, journals, book bags, bookmarks + more

On the Festival Stage, hosted by Russ Randolph of Puttin’ On the Ritz DJ Service, will be local acts like Highway 11, the Trussville Ukulele Strummers, Miss Kelley’s dancers and voice students of Kristy White. Birmingham Martial Arts students will demonstrate their skills, and for a touch of sweetness, the Pet Supplies Plus Pup Strut will take place at 2:30PM.

Stop 4: Jefferson Memorial City Fest Car Show

When: Saturday, September 17 | 10AM-4PM
Where: Cahaba Elementary School, 301 Parkway Dr, Trussville, AL 35173

What’s here: When you’re ready for your next Trussville City Fest stop, speed walk your way along Parkway Drive to find cars, cars and more cars! Jefferson Memorial will again sponsor the annual City Fest Car Show featuring sweet rides you’re sure to ooh and aah over.

Stop 5: Bryant Bank Kids’ Area

When: Saturday, September 17 | 10AM-4PM
Where: Historic Trussville Mall, 360 N Chalkville Rd, Trussville, AL 35173

What’s here: Mosey along for more of the Trussville City Fest experience to the historic Trussville Mall. (No, it’s not a shopping mall. It’s a huge grassy field, perfect for outdoor entertainment!) You’ll find an expanded Kids’ Area with more fun than the kiddos will know what to do with. With inflatables, rides, a foam dance party, face painting, balloon animals and an endless field to run on, it’s sure to be every kid’s favorite stop of the day.

A percentage of proceeds from the Fun Source Kids Zone benefit the Trussville City Schools Foundation.

Stop 6: Trussville Fresh Farmers Market

When: Saturday, September 17 | 8AM-Noon
Where: 154 Main Street, Trussville, AL 35173

What’s here: It’s not a Saturday without a stop at the Farmers’ Market. During City Fest Saturday only, Trussville’s weekly Farmer’s Market will relocate to a new stop on Main Street to join in on the fun and offer lots of fresh fruits and veggies, homemade baked goods and more!

Stop 7. Trussville Downtown Merchants Art Walk

When: Saturday, September 17 | 10AM-5PM
Where: Main Street and North Chalkville Rd, Trussville, AL 35173

What’s here: After shopping for delicious local produce, backtrack down Main Street a bit and cross over to the Trussville Entertainment District for even more fun at the Trussville Downtown Merchants Artwalk. Here’s what to expect:

  • Art from talented artists + creators (9AM-5PM)
  • Dancing with the Birmingham Square Dance Association Dancers and caller Pat Kotal of the Kurly Q’s at Noon
  • Music from the Kool Kats and their repertoire of oldies at 10AM and the Steel City Jug Slammers at 2PM

What’s here: Pregame at the Trussville Entertainiment District on Friday, September 9 from 6-10PM during Tune Up for City Fest, also presented by Brown Automotive Repair. Cabin Fever will be live on stage and kids’ activities will be set up for family-friendly fun.
