If you often deal with time-sucking, stress-producing writer's block, think about this... Maybe it's actually imposter syndrome that's causing it! A lot of times writer's block comes from a place of insecurity and self-doubt. It's as if the negative self-talk recording in your brain is on an endless loop, playing over and over again. Fear that what you're writing isn't "good enough" can get you stuck and questioning your entire life. But if it makes you feel any better, everyone feels that way… even more experienced copywriters. It's why I see writer's block as a mindset issue... and something you can kick to the curb by recognizing its causes and adopting new habits to avoid falling into its clutches. This week I'm doing a whole series of emails on mindset... so if you're not a Copy Insider yet, go to copyinsiders dot com to join in all the mindset-expanding goodness. I get into a LOT more than I can with LinkedIn's highly-limiting character limit. And check out my past Copy Insiders issues on my blog at kimschwalm dot com. Something I wrote about recently is setting effective boundaries with clients (and other aspects of your life). There's nothing like respecting yo' self that gets other people respecting you, too. And that can go a long way to beating imposter syndrome... and the "blank page blues!" Agree? Disagree? Comment below!

Indeed that's true Kim!! And it happens to me every single time I get to work on a new project... What helps me is to write everything that comes into my mind and then edit it several times. But maybe I can get over this feeling by acting upon your advice 🙂👍

Writer's block could happen due to impostor's syndrome truly due to nervousness. It happened to me one time, I got my first client via a Upwork and I was nervous for some hours. I guess doing something for the first time makes everyone nervous and for a writer, could lead to writers block.

I would agree. Sometimes it's just the fear of getting it done and handing your work over to someone that makes you keep putting it off.

I feel this! Writer's block is a mindset issue, and getting into a steady writing routine can help build your confidence, especially when the dreaded imposter syndrome starts to creep in. And in those moments when you're not feeling your copy. Write anyway, and fix it later. You got this!
