I bought the update (even though I recently purchased the first ed) and I’m happy I did.

Ann writes in such an easy to read style. This book’s full of up to date practical information you get to use now.

She’s the best. If you’re not currently getting her newsletter, you are missing out.

Same with the 2nd edition on Everybody Writes!

A day before I ordered this book, I was complaining to my husband that B2C copywriters get to have "all the fun" when it comes to writing. As a B2B SaaS Content Marketer, I've fallen into the trap of loathing writing and the thought of another dry and stuffy blog post.

This book gave life back to my writing and help me form an understanding of how storytelling has a solid and needed place in all forms of writing -- even B2B content. That alone was worth the read and the definite re-read that's coming.

Beyond that, Ann does an amazing job of clearly summarizing key content pieces and providing tips to enhance this content to resonate more with readers -- something I will for sure be coming back to again and again. Thanks, Ann for an amazing book! Looking forward to Edition 3 about AI....

This book took me a weirdly long time to finish. For how entertaining it was, it was also kind of a slog. But I'm glad I got through it.

Very informative. Ann clearly writes with a lot of care. She also has a VERY strong writing voice. I'd say any more points in her writing voice and it'd be annoying. She toes the line, but I did find her style to be entertaining throughout.

My biggest takeaway from this book was feeling more empowered as a writer.

This book is incredible.

The chapters are bite-sized in length, but not in depth. It's perfect -- you get what you need to move forward without being bogged down for 30 pages.

Most business books that claim to solve a problem spend 10 years describing the problem and then give you one or two chapters of a solution -- and it's not even particularly actionable. "Just be more of this and less of that!"

Not this book. Ann introduces a framework she uses for writing and then breaks down every step with examples and clear actionable advice. It's making me a better writer IMMEDIATELY, and I'm only on page 75. Which is chapter 17.

I can't recommend Everybody Writes 2 enough. If you write, you WILL benefit from this book.

About 10% of a book’s content has to change in order for it to be declared a ‘new edition’. Do you know how much of Everybody Writes has changed for this second edition? WAY WAY WAY more than 10%. It’s practically a whole new book and I’m learning so much - just as I did with the first edition. The thing that makes Ann a truly awesome writer and expert is that she stays on top of trends and is active in the writing and marketing world. She’s just not re-hashing the Information she’s previously shared and is comfortable with. Every time I read Ann’s newsletters or watch one of her talks she’s sharing new and worthwhile information that she’s studied and then tested in her own work. This book is no exception - every chapter contains new knowledge that I’ve found helpful in my own work. Even if it’s a tool or topic I already know about, I find that Ann provides a different perspective on it which helps me to learn and grow. If you have the first edition of this book, awesome. You still need this book because it’s a fully updated look at how writers work right now.

Ann Handley is an amazing human who does incredible things for the content marketing industry. Reading this book is like having Ann sitting next you helping to tackle some of biggest writing challenges, all with her incredible sense of humor every step of the way. Writing is hard work, and reading this book made me feel like my team and I were seen and heard. It made me emotional to feel so connected to Ann's words. This book is the perfect compliment to our team's approach to content, and I will be ordering copies for us all. This is truly a brilliant piece of work that will help content marketers for decades to come.

Getting better at anything takes practice. But really, who wants to practice? In Everybody Writes, Anne leads readers on a delightful journey that helps you see a path forward. If you are a writing snob, this book isn't for you. Just knowing we're less weird than we thought - at least about writing - makes it a must-have for the rest of us. Thanks Ann Handley!

The first version of Everybody Writes was a wonder. It completely changed my attitude toward writing. Instead of feeling pressure-filled, writing now feels joyful. But as much as I liked the original version, I LOVED this one. Ann Handley added so much current, helpful content. She also infused the writing with more of the personality her newsletter readers love her for... and teaches you how to do the same. The pages just fly by. Such a worthwhile purchase... even if you’ve read the first edition.

I found out about this book through linkedin and bought it a few days after. It was highly recommended by many others and I just had to see what it was about.

I'm a freelance writer and this book was simply awesome for me. It's funny, relatable, and a gold mine of information on writing. 100% recommended for anyone that wants to be better at writing.
