Alternative process

Referring to non-standard or non-commercial photographic printing methods, the term 'Alternative process' is used. This is in contrast to the standard analog photographic printing process for black-and-white photographs, which is the gelatin silver process and is not considered an alternative process. These alternative processes often involve historical, non-digital techniques and can produce unique aesthetic effects.
