When I first started my blog at ListProducer.com, I tried to be "easy breezy" and not keep an editorial calendar. At the time, I was still working full-time as a TV producer and my blog was a side project. That "easy breezy" method? It didn't work. What did make a difference was using an editorial calendar — a trick I learned in the newsroom and still use to this day. I've been working on my novel for a few years now — and I'm more motivated than ever to get it to the next stage. But it's never easy to carve out the time.
