I set cryptics for venues like The Wall Street Journal, The Independent (as Mog), and AVCX Cryptics, where I'm also part of the editing team. I used to make a lot of free puzzles, including a popular series of introductory Quiptics, which you can find at squarepursuit.com. A couple of years ago, in response to the growing demand for fun, contemporary, and approachable variety cryptics, I founded Square Chase, a twice-monthly variety cryptic service, where the puzzles are easy to moderate in difficulty, with a focus on fun contemporary language and fresh themes.
