Nigerian Equities Market closed negative as the key market indicator declined by 789.04 bps amid positive market breadth
The NGX All-Share Index declined by -1.53% to close at 50868.52 basis points as against a 0.12% gain recorded previously to close at 51,657.56 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records a N429.77bn loss.
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at -0.75%
The total volume traded declined by 47.80% to close at 138.716m, valued at N1.83bn and traded in 3673 deals. STERLNBANK was the most traded stock by volume with 29.15m units traded while GTCO was also the most traded stock by value which is put at N447.77m
Sectoral performance was broadly positive as nine (9) NGX sector index closed northward, five (5) closed southward and four (4) closed flat. The NGX Food and Beverages index advanced by 1.33% to top the gainer’s chart while the NGX MAIN BOARD index declined by 2.68% to top the losers’ chart.
The Gote index closed flat at 136.21 basis points while the Toni index advanced by 0.20% to close at 118.70 basis points.
At the close of trading, the market recorded 19 gainers to 15 losers and 69 unchanged. JOHNHOLT topped the list of gainers while PRESTIGE topped the list of losers.
