About this event

It’s nearly World Philosophy Day, so why not celebrate it with a special live-lesson?

Join The Philosophy Man team, and schools around the world, for World Philosophy Day Live - a unique opportunity for children to discuss deep questions that'll stretch their thinking in new directions. For children 8+ (UK Year 3+ or equivalent).

What's it all about?

  • A fun, interactive experience that gets children thinking, talking and laughing
  • An chance for learners to share their views with a global audience
  • An easy way to celebrate World Philosophy Day - with minimal planning!

What’s the format?

  • After some high-energy warm ups, we’ll introduce a juicy philosophical question and give children time to discuss with a partner
  • They can then share their ideas through the Zoom microphone or on the chat
  • They’ll have their final say with a vote!

To accommodate schools who join late/have to leave early, there will be plenty of questions, covering a range of philosophical themes, to chew over!

How do I join?

  • Join on Zoom from your
  • classroom, philosophy club or as a whole school
  • No need to have cameras on
  • Students can join through a microphone, or through the chat

The lesson will be a mix of storytelling, questions and interactions, with plenty of opportunity for paired discussion before the chance to share with everyone.

If classes are in different rooms, please buy multiple tickets, but if you're joining as a school from one location, you just need one.

Please register with a school email address. We'll send full instructions on joining the Zoom after you sign up.
