Sen. Rand Paul told President Joe Biden that he should take his mask off and burn it if he wants more people to get vaccinated.
“If Dr. Fauci can prove that people who are vaccinated are spreading the disease, I’ll listen to him … but there is no evidence of that,” Paul said during a Fox News interview Wednesday. “If you want more people to get vaccinated, Joe Biden should go on national TV, take his mask off, and burn it.”

Paul added that, after burning his mask, Biden should say, “I’ve had the vaccine, I am now safe from this plague. If you get the vaccine, you can be safe too.”

The Kentucky Republican argued that the “burden of proof” should be on the government to prove that vaccinated people can spread the disease, as opposed to saying the “vaccine might not work in some planetary world we’re not aware of.”
Earlier in the day, Biden told the country that masks will be necessary “until the number of cases go down, until everyone has a chance to get their shot.”

Paul, an ophthalmologist for almost 30 years, has been a vocal critic of coronavirus restrictions and has consistently slammed Dr. Anthony Fauci’s response to the pandemic.
“Dr. Fauci should be voluntarily removed from TV because what he says is such a disservice and such fearmongering, and almost all of what he says isn’t even matched by the science of his own institute,” Paul said in an interview earlier this month.
