LLA and Hydra Publications will sponsor the 2023 Writer's Block Prize Short Story Contest

DEADLINE: March 19

AWARD:

• One first place winner will receive a $300 Prize and an invitation to read at the 2023 Writer’s Block Festival in Louisville, KY.   

• Hydra Publications will publish the top 20 publications in an anthology collection.

• LLA Board of Directors will be the judges. 

• Winner announced on April 19, 2023.

GUIDELINES:​

• Submit a short story of any genre (2,000-5,000 words).

• Up to 3 multiple entries will be considered; Entry fee applies to each submission.

• Your name and contact information must NOT appear anywhere in the document. Documents that include author identification will be disqualified. 

• All manuscripts must be submitted electronically via Submittable. 

• Only submit unpublished work. Please notify us and withdraw your work through Submittable if your work is accepted for publication elsewhere.

• Simultaneous submissions are permitted.
