Auditions for Multiple Roles in TV Pilot Project Filming in Chicago

Hoosier Kid Pilot – Table Read

Location: Chicago, IL

Type: TV Pilots

Casting all roles for a table read and possible staged reading. Hoosier Kid is a true story and I’m writing with HBO in mind so there is some rough language. Please keep that in mind when submitting children.

If you’re submitting for the role of Ricky there will be a required meeting with parents or guardians a couple days before auditions which will be in Mid March.

Roles are listed below with a few doubled up, please specify which role you will be reading for with your headshot and resume. Sides will be emailed a week before auditions and you will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement the night of auditions.

Man in the Blue Truck (Male/20’s/ Caucasian) Good looking farmer type (Will also read the role of George)

Brenda (Female/Early 30’s/Caucasian) Single working mom with 3 kids. Possible bipolar who self medicates. Work hard, play hard mentality.

Mr. Thurnace (Male/ 40’s/Caucasian) Elementary school principal (Will also read the role of Redd)

Ms. Anderson (Female/30’s/Caucasian) School Secretary (Will also read the role of Mrs Crawford)

Mrs Kish (Female/ Late 40’s/ Caucasian) 4th Grade Teacher

Fred (Male/50’s/Eastern European) Greek Restaurant owner/Cook – Accent a must but if you can speak Greek that is a HUGE plus

Mama (Female/ 50’s/ Eastern European) Fred’s wife/Cook – Accent a must but if you can speak Greek that is a HUGE plus

Connie (Female/ 20’s/ Caucasian) Small Town Waitress (Will also read the role of Miss Dawn)

George (Male/30’s/ Caucasian) Blue Collar Worker

Redd ( Male/40’s Caucasian) Blue Collar Worker

Mrs. Crawford (Female/ 30’s / Caucasian) Fundamentalist Christian

The Kids – Actual ages are listed but if someone older can play that age, please submit for the role.

Ricky (Male/10/ Caucasian) Meeting with parents or guardians required before casting this role. Quiet & shy type who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders at the early age of 10. Many layers to this kid are peeled back over the process of the series. Faces his own mortality with a gun in his face in the opening of the Pilot which would send most kids over the edge but unfortunately for Ricky that is only a foreshadowing of what is to come.

Mike (Male/13/ Caucasian) Ricky’s older brother. Bad boy with no charm. The divorce of his parents effected him horribly and causes him to be angry

Janet (Female/ 16/ Caucasian) Oldest sibling to Mike and Ricky. She takes on a lot of the responsibility for her younger brothers because Brenda is working. Very caring and loving.

Julie (Female/10/ Caucasian) Chatty Cathy type. A very likable know it all.

Bobbie Sue (Female/10/Caucasian) Tall, skinny, tom-girl… Tough when she needs to be but shy.

Kevin (Male/10/ Caucasian) A bad boy with charm. Not to be cliche but he is that boy in school that all the girls love and all the boys want to be.
