The Original Dickens Carolers is pleased to announce auditions for this upcoming holiday season of 2017!

AUDITIONS (Paid):
All positions are paid. We perform in multiple quartets each year at events throughout the Utah area, the majority in Salt Lake City. Usually one quartet will attend each event, and with several quartets cast, we can cover more bookings. We sing 54 songs from memory in parts, including three 5 minute plays. We are the same group that performs in Denver, CO area, and are joyfully performing again in Utah as well. To get a better feel for this group, feel free to visit:
You must be able to improvise. We perform for many audiences of all ages who adore the roles played by each character, and you will be interacting with the audience members individually and collectively for various occasions and are expected to be jolly and fun, always representing the Original Dickens Carolers with professionalism and delightful creativity.
Roles to be Cast:
Felicity the lovely soprano is…the belle of the ball, and with her captivating smile, she can summon world peace. She is motherly and kind and not afraid to graciously take stage. This soprano requires a blendable voice.
Age: 20-45
Pip the perky Alto is…a poor little beggar and pickpocket, caught one day by the Governor. Gov soon discovered that Pip could actually sing, so instead of begging and stealing she sings for her supper. Plays a small bell-sounding instrument.
Age: 20-55
Height: less than 5’5″
Governor the commanding Bass is…the man of sense. He is a proper gentleman who keeps the songs coming, and is often the Emcee of the group, and provides the pitch.
Age: 35-90
Sebastian the dashing Tenor is…one who fancies himself quite the ladies man. He is charming and fun, sometimes flirting with the ladies, and likes to tease Pip. He delights in keeping the audience laughing. (Improv background is a plus)

Preliminary auditions will be held online August 17th- 31st, and out of those we will invite people to an audition slot Sept 1st @ 7pm and 2nd @ both 10am and 7pm, located in Sandy, UT.

4. A 1-minute video showing you singing two contrasting Christmas songs acapella. Please show your best performance as if in front of an audience (great stage presence, animated, don’t be afraid to act, this is not a choir), and try to make sure your video has good sound quality.
