Extras Cast Call in NYC for “The Deuce”

Extras call out for NYC area extras for HBO drama “The Deuce.”

David Simon’s & James Franco’s drama series “The Deuce” has a casting call out for extras in the NYC area.

Simon is directing the drama which he co-wrote with  George Pelecanos.  The pair is also executive producing the upcoming series along with James Franco. The show stars James Franco as a rising 70s pornographer in the NYC area during the 70s adult industry boom in the area.  Maggie Gyllenhaal co-stars in the show as a sex worker who gets entangled in the mob controlled fledgling industry.

The Deuce” is set  New York City during the 70s and 80s, a time plagued by record crime rates and urban decay.  James Franco plays twin brothers, Vincent Martino and Frankie Martino. Franco will be playing both brothers who became major players and subsequently fell under mob control. Maggie Gyllenhaal plays Candy, a hooker in Times Square who also gets sucked into the city’s new porn scene. Also cast in the show are Gary Carr, Margarita Levieva, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Emily Meade and Dominique Fishback.  According to the show’s IMDB page, an exact premiere date is not yet set, but the show will hit TV sets with HBO servivce sometime in 2017.
