If you currently live in New Orleans, here is a chance to land a small, non-speaking role in a mob movie.
Seems that another Al Capone / mobster movie is in the works and this one is being called “Fonzo.” The post-gangster flick just began filming in the New Orleans area this month and locals interested in working as paid extras in the mob-ish movie are now welcome to send in their photos and contact information. Central Casting in Louisiana is handling local extras casting for the NOLA area.
The cast of the “Fonzo” cast also includes Linda Cardellini, Matt Dillon, Kyle MacLachlan, and Kathrine Narducci. According to a story in Variety, “Fonzo,” is helmed by “Fantastic Four’s” Josh Trank. The movie, with Tom Hardy playing Capone, picks up Al Capone at the age 47 and after Capone returns to Chicago having spent some years in prison. Capone’s post mob boss plan is to become a businessman. The movie aims to follow the later part of his life including his health issues, such as his battle with dementia and the conditions which eventually caused his death.
The IMDB plot description of the films reads as follows:
A ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist, Al “Fonzo” Capone (Hardy) was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore. At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots Capone’s mind and his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life.

PARTY GUEST: casting 20’s – 40’s Caucasian and Italian looking men and women (18+ years old) to portray upscale Guests at a Prohibition Party set in Chicago. You will be portraying Chicago’s upper class and Government officials. Due to vintage clothing size restrictions, women must be size 10 or smaller and men must be a size 44 coat and smaller. This category only works 1 day: Tuesday, 5/15.
SERVERS: casting 20’s – 50’s African American looking men (18+ years old) to portray servers at the party. This category only works 1 day: Tuesday, 5/15. Server experience preferred! This is a picture picked role to work a small scene! If chosen, we do ask you maintain some flexibility in case the filming schedule changes.
