USA’s network hit show “Suits” is getting a spin-off.
The new show which currently in called “Second City” is now in production in the Chicago area and there are quite a few casting calls out. The show’s extras casting team is looking for Chicago area locals who have some free time and would like to make some extra cash by working as TV show extras. Current casting notices are listed below. These are calls for TV extras and are paid spots offering extras rates.
USA’s Suits spin-off, Second City is described to be an offshoot of the popular legal drama and will feature Gina Torres who currently plays, lawyer Jessica Pearson. The show is said to center on her character as she enters the political sphere in the city of Chicago. The new show was announced this past May.
USA linked the two shows together by offering up a Suits season finale which introduced the new show and according to a Dealine article, serves as the pilot for the new show “Second City.”
Suits was renewed after the spin-off was announced and aired alongside “Second City.” The newest season of “Suits” lost two of it’s main characters, Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle. The rest of the show cast had returned and the network added Katherine Heigl in season 8.
As for “Suits” season 9… that seems to still be up in the air and fans may have to wait to see if Specter Litt is ablr to actually go on after losing Mike Ross and Rachel Zane.
Also according to Deadline, Aaron Korsh, who created and served as the executive producer of “Suits” is involved in the new spin-off. “Second City” will be executive produced by Korsh and Daniel Arkin as well as others who were involved in the “Suits” TV series., and was directed by Suits alum Anton Cropper. The new series, which hails from Universal Cable Prods., is executive produced by Korsh, showrunner Arkin, Torres and Suits executive producers Doug Liman, David Bartis and Gene Klein of Hypnotic.
