Casting for independent feature film Carmilla Vive!.
Synopsis: Carmilla, a very ancient vampire, has walked among us for millennia observing the state of humanity. Now outraged and disgusted at what she sees, Carmilla decides it’s time to cleanse the world. Though on the surface Carmilla Vive! is a horror film where four women do battle with legions of “trolls”, an important focus of the narrative is the love story between Carmilla and Laura. Laura is the only person who can restrain Carmilla’s apocalyptic impulses.
Roles:
Carmilla (Lead): female, 28-40 (Height 5′ 7″ or taller.)
an ancient vampire, ardent feminist, singer in a band, and hero of our film. She is well read, has a dark sense of humor, is inflexible, and prone to violence. She often speaks in poetic verse. Music and dance experience is welcomed but not required.
Laura (Lead): female, 22 – 30
Carmilla’s love interest, artist and web designer. She is strong, thoughtful, and questioning. Her pacifist world view stands in contrast to Carmilla’s proclivity to violence. Laura becomes Carmilla’s moral compass in the modern world.
Pay TBD.(non-union) Meals and transportation to locations outside Chicago will be provided.
