Would You Still Love Me IF?

Underbite Theatre Company is holding auditions for Would You Still Love Me, IF?, a new play by John S. Anastasi exploring gender identity and the challenges of gender transitioning. Looking for four strong women for this topical play.
Auditions will consist of readings from the script in one hour blocks on September 14 and September 15 from 6-10 in the Walnut Street Theatre, 6th Floor Rehearsal Room
Performances November 4-14 at the Walnut Street Theatre Studio 5, 825 Walnut Street, Philadelphia.
Rehearsals will run September 29 through November 3 at the Walnut Street Theatre. Modest stipend. Non-equity only, please.
Characters:
DANYA (F) – Mid 20s-30s; identifies as male, but living in a female body. Transitions to a male in the play.
ADDISON (F) – Mid 20s-30s; in a romantic relationship with Dayna
DOCTOR GERARD (F) – 30s-40s; a surgeon
VICTORIA (F) – 40s-60s; Danya’s mother
The story:
Danya and Addison are caring, intelligent people who are also lesbian lovers. They have professional careers, a beautiful home, a baby on the way and a true passion and love for each other. But a lifelong secret threatens to destroy all they hold dear and forces them to look at each other in a different light.
Would You Still Love Me, IF? is a story of a committed couple facing the life altering choices the modern world offers and examines what happens when a person’s true sense of self is pitted against a promise made to their partner.
