The following seems to be an undisputed quote made by a man who, with the point of a bayonet, violated state sovereignty in order to force upon the people of the South that which they did not want.
“These (Southerners) are not bad people. All they are concerned about is to see that their sweet little girls are not required to sit in school alongside some big overgrown Negroes.”
I guess he didn’t feel that way the day he sent troops to Arkansas.
What’s interesting is that not much has changed since Eisenhower helped ruin public education. White parents just have to spend $5000 – $10,000 per year to send their kids to Christian schools in areas where they are blessed with significant diversity, hence my education at Briarcrest (before finishing up my last couple of years as a home schooled student).
