I ordered some business cards the other day and was very impressed when they arrived. After all, printing is a very competitive business nowadays because every person and their dog reckons they can design and print stationery on their computer using the latest in digital applications.

It was a classic example of what my long time business partner, Peter, had printed as a reminder on his desk blotter (remember when we all had a blotting pad on our desk?).

It said, quite simply, “Success is 50% preparation, 50% presentation.” In a nutshell, not only do you have to know your stuff, you’ve got to present it well. Presentation, the vital factor!

And this business card printer certainly knew that.

He did the printing in double quick time and then the business cards were couriered to me. They arrived in a very impressive box and, when I opened it, I was even more impressed when I saw how they had carefully arranged my supply of business cards (as the photo inadequately shows).

The business cards were all neatly packaged in a good, strong storage box and banded in about 50’s which is how I need them as I reload my business card case about 50 at a time. It was impressive and of course was a great treatment of something very personal to me. Probably, anybody can print a business card but only this printer knew how to present them.

Work less, charge more and have your customers loving it!
Marketing Magic

You may recall my story of some years go about the associates at the Mont Blanc pen company wearing white gloves and laying purple velvet cushions on the counter to display their pens. Anybody can make pens but only Mont Blanc made them really valuable.

So have a look at how you deliver your products or services. I know you do a fantastic job but how do you add lustre or value when you present the product or service to delight your clients, customers or patients?
