William Francis “Willie” Sutton, Jr. was an an American bank robber and during his forty-year robbery career he stole an estimated $2 million. For his talent at executing robberies in disguises, he gained two nicknames, “Willie the Actor” and “Slick Willie”. Sutton is also known for “Sutton’s Law” although he denied originating it.

Sutton had reputedly replied to a reporter’s inquiry as to why he robbed banks with the blindingly simple statement “because that’s where the money is.”

And that’s why knowing very, very specifically all about your target market is so critical when it comes to marketing your product or service. The more you know about them, the better you “walk in their moccasins”, the more likely you will be in successfully finding and selling them.
