Robert Corsetti
How and when did you start creating art?
Like all artists, my career started as soon as I could hold a crayon, or maybe it started the first time I finger painted with strained peas. Who knows? I believe every child is an artist … the trick is not letting this natural creativity get crushed by other’s beliefs in how art is supposed to be.
What media and genres do you work in?
Who or what are your influences?
Wow... I love so many forms of art and artist. My two favorite in my youth were Maxfield Parrish and Frank Frazetta.
What was your inspiration for Brookie Flash?
I love fly fishing, The exhilaration of the rise, A flash of color, the way it hits, more of a feeling than actual seeing, in that split second just before a fish takes your fly, you set the hook, then the rod tip surged violently downward, and in the same breath, the fish streaks pulling line perilously tight the battle is on, first the trout first line stripping, then you regaining line, and the rod tip raises, you feel it turn and start heading your way.
Describe your creative process?
My process is probably like most artist to have an idea, sketch it out, compose it, re-sketch it, and then start throwing paint until it is right or you just can't work on it any more.
What are you working on currently?
I am working on a large commissioned piece 6 feet x 4 feet, the client wants pink and purple flowers, I am adding a custom boarder so the piece has lots of broken edges and depth.
What are your near/long term goals as an artist?
Work work work – I love creating something new bringing ideas to life through any form of visual communications. It’s what awakens my soul, inspires me to make the world a better place.
