Here’s a tragic and absolutely infuriating story that happened a few days ago at a Target parking lot in Bryant, Arkansas. A young white woman named Heather Baker was run over by a black man named Marcus Dorsey, who was high on the street drug “sherm”. He told police that he “gunned it” when he saw her trying to cross and then fled the scene.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) — The woman who was involved in a hit-and-run in a Bryant Target parking lot has reportedly died. The Bryant Police Dept. said the charges against the suspect will be upgraded.
Heather Baker, 20, was airlifted to a Little Rock hospital after she was struck by a truck allegedly driven by 39-year-old Marcus Dorsey, who was arrested minutes later.
The Bryant Police Department reports that Baker died at 10:39 Friday morning at Baptist Hospital due to her injuries.
“Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to the family,” said Sgt. Todd Crowson with Bryant police. He’s been with the department for 14 years and said, “It doesn’t get easier, but when you see ones like this, it gets harder.”
Sgt. Crowson told THV11 that Dorsey’s initial charges were first degree battery and leaving the scene of an accident with injury, with more charges pending. With the death of Baker, charges have now been upgraded to first degree murder, four counts of leaving the scene of an accident with injury, and driving on a suspended license. Dorsey’s bond was set at $1 million.
“He told investigators that he saw the girl and gunned it,” Sgt. Crowson said of Dorsey.
Just days before this incident, Dorsey is said to have been arrested for public intoxication. Other than that, Sgt. Crowson said he doesn’t have a criminal record.
As for the role drugs and alcohol played, police have not received the toxicology report. An officer who testified Friday said Dorsey admitted to having used the drug “sherm,” which is a mixture of marijuana and PCP.
“It breaks my heart,” said Sgt. Crowson. “I hate it for this young girl. She didn’t do anything wrong.”
