Dear friends,
A few days ago I was immersed in writing what would have served as the letter for our regularly scheduled first quarter fundraising drive. Then, on the morning of February 25, I was informed that my brother and co-host, Bill Rolen, had been called home by the Lord to receive his eternal reward. Everything suddenly faded away and seemed so small in comparison.
Bill’s passing is a staggering blow to us all. He played an indispensable role in the development and cultivation of our radio program from its very inception. In addition to his invaluable contributions on-air, his fingerprints were left behind the scenes on every victory we’ve ever garnered. He was a skilled and effective partisan.
That he chose The Political Cesspool as the primary outlet for his activism during the last eight years of his life was a tremendous blessing to everyone who has ever listened to the broadcast. Our work is part of his rich legacy.
I’m going to make this letter very direct. Yes, we need you to respond to this quarterly appeal in order to keep our work funded and on the air. Nothing has changed there.
But, much more importantly, we will also be presenting financial assistance to Bill’s wife and children on behalf of the audience based upon that which we can raise between now and March 31, so please give generously. I will help lead the way by making a donation of my own this morning.
